Changing the timeframe, speed and zoom

The chart controls in the top bar — and why switching timeframe starts a fresh chart.

The top bar of the Arena holds every chart control.

Timeframe

The TF selector switches between 5-minute, 15-minute, hourly and daily bars. Each one genuinely behaves differently — a daily bar moves several times what a 5-minute bar does, and the decisions that come with it are slower and larger.

Switching timeframe starts a fresh chart. It has to — a replay cannot be re-cut mid-session without handing you information you did not have. If you are inside a lesson, that lesson has a default timeframe, and you are free to switch away from it.

Replay controls

  • ▶ Play — the chart advances on its own, candle by candle.
  • ⏭ Step — advance exactly one candle. Useful when you want to think.
  • 1× / 2× — replay speed.
  • - / + — zoom the chart out and in.
  • ⛶ Fullscreen — expand the chart; Esc to come back.
  • End session — stop here and get your scorecard.

Indicators

The indicator bar above the chart toggles overlays. EMA 9, EMA 20 and SMA 50 are available to everyone; VWAP, RSI 14, MACD and ADX 14 need Lab Pro. Indicators describe what a market has already done — they are a way of reading state, never a signal to act on.

Reminder. The Trading Lab is an educational simulation running on synthetic data with play capital. Nothing here is investment advice, no buy or sell call is given on any real security, and no claim is made about returns.

Try it in the Arena.

Reading about it only goes so far — the skill comes from the reps.
